colour splash
2019.08 for NTUC First Campus Colour splash is a playscape that transforms in different weathers. The weather affects play - on a bright sunny day, children come out to play. But when the sky turns grey, children run away. Hence, we wanted to create a playscape that could adapt to the different weathers. Our key structure is a panel that reveals coloured shadows under the sun and also serves as a shelter when it rains. Inspired by the form of a leaf, the shelters are slightly curved in the centre and arranged in descending height in order to effectively capture a larger surface area of rain water to be stored for play in the day. |
